Conditioning

The basis of strength and conditioning is to always improve. Conditioning, simply put, is the provoking of a desired response from repeated exposure to a particular stimulus. The end result is intended to be an athlete who is physiologically, anatomically, and psychologically superior as compared to their starting point. It is not primarily concerned with developing skill, yet skill required will be a filter for exercise choice.

Martial Arts, especially MMA and grappling sports, are incredibly demanding on the human body and mind. Proficient practice places strong demands from the practitioner on all attributes of fitness - flexibility, mobility, strength, power, endurance, co-ordination, agility, speed, and balance. The purpose of these classes is to maximize your fitness so you can maximize your ability to practice your chosen art more proficiently.  Maximise fitness, maximise your practise, you will maximize your performance. It’s that simple.

Murray Ballenden, a BJJ Black Belt with a wealth of competition experience in BJJ, as well as experience in all styles offered at the academy, will be taking these classes. Our aim at Dominance is to improve your martial arts performance and life performance. Expect to be taught, not preached to, expect to learn and take ownership, not be force fed, and expect to be shown how truly holistic ones approach should be to get to the top of their game.
