BJJ

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, meaning “the gentle art”  began 1914 in Brazil when the Gracie family took Judo, refining and developing it through innumerable no rules contests into what we now know as BJJ. Focusing on use of superior leverage and technique BJJ allows a smaller person to overcome a much larger attacker using joint locks and chokes. Although BJJ includes stand up techniques it is most dominant on the ground.

At Dominance our BJJ program is directed by David Hart and Cameron Rowe, both highly successful competitors and respected coaches. Dominance is renowned for producing the most technical and succesful BJJ students in the country, with the most dominant competition team on the circuit. Our classes focus on smooth, technical training and being a positive, safe partner for others in the class. Whether it be self-defense, competition, or recreation you have found the right place, where the emphasis is on a positive learning experience and leaving the mat empowered!
