Boxing


Boxing, also known as “the sweet science” dates back to the 3rd millennium BC. The modern form, established in 1867, formalised rules such as weight classes, rounds, ring size and use of the “boxing glove” for the fighters safety. Focusing on striking the opponent above the waist only with the fists, the ultimate goal of boxing is to knock out the opponent through use of hand speed, footwork, timing and defensive skills.

 

At Dominance our Boxing program is directed by head coach Keith Grant, and supported by Andy Colgrave, both highly technical coaches. With safe, positive training environment, classes are fantastic workout which develop a great skill set built on a foundation of strong basics. Additionally there is a large element of conditioning to ensure students have the endurance to maintain their technical level round after round.


Our classes cater for beginners, intermediates and those wishing the step in the ring. Every class has two instructors to ensure you get all the attention you need to develop your skills as quickly and safely as possible.
